In an effort to boost the safety of drinking water, Missouri will receive $3.2 million and Illinois will receive $7.4 million in stimulus funding to clean up underground storage tank petroleum leaks.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is distributing $197 million nationwide for 1,600 cleanups nationwide, U.S Sen. Dick Durbin said Wednesday.
